House on the Hill is really a celebration of the owner’s Irish background and love of gardening, culminating in a home that offers both indoor and outdoor sanctuaries that are intrinsically connected to one another.

A new build in the leafy suburb of Hurlingham, this 4 bedroom family home delivers the best of indoor-outdoor living and makes the most of it’s long, skinny site.

In order to maximize the northern aspect, we created a courtyard space that allowed us to bring in light into the main functional areas on the ground floor, as well as enable all the bedrooms to be north facing- elevated above a beautiful stone wall, fronting the courtyard.

The garden in drawn in through large openings and the flow of spaces has allowed for an incredibly user-friendly home whether be just the 4 of them, or entertaining large crowds!

For this extensive renovation, we completely transformed the ground floor spaces, including the addition of a new patio space, that gave the home the proportions it deserved. What was once a multitude of interconnected rooms is now a beautifully harmonious indoor-outdoor space where rooms can be included in the space as a whole, or made into cosier spaces without interrupting the vistas from each room or the space.

The complete renovation of a family home to allow for open-plan living.

When you have a tree like this in your garden, one needs an outdoor space space that envelops it and makes it an extension of the home!

For this renovation, we were tasked with extending the patio space to make it more usable. I also wanted to take this opportunity to integrate this element into the rest of the facade by wrapping the structure around and creating a planter box and a more defined entrance. The views from this patio are magnificent!

We also reconfigured some internal spaces to enable better flow, including a new main en-suite and guest bathroom.

Greenroots is a mixed use development which includes offices, retail and restaurants in a beautifully green environment in the middle of Weltevreden Park.

The development has started with the refurbishment of a couple buildings contained on the site, and will progress to the development of new spaces set in amongst the magnificent array of trees.

A very rewarding renovation where we opened up 3 separate rooms to create a beautiful and sophisticated family and entertainment space. This home, which has been in the family for generations, required a sensitivity that would enable the old to sit alongside the new seamlessly.

This renovation was all about the patio and incorporating the magnificent garden into the home! Given the difference in levels between the patio floor and the lawn, the priority here was connecting the spaces in a way that didn’t obstruct the garden or the integration of the two spaces. We did this by eliminating the balustrade in the front of the patio and instead treating the stairs as an extension of the space.

The conversion of 2 shipping containers to produce a beautiful studio pod, tying into the aesthetic of the Greenroots environment.

A large-scale renovation, leaving very little behind, other than the floor plate and a few exterior walls. (scroll to the bottom of the pics to see the befores!!)

Internally, the space is completely enveloped in beautiful light, from sun up to sun down- with the homes east-west orientation.

Using the original footprint, the home has been designed to prioritise outdoor living and make the most of the beautiful garden that lies in front. The bedroom wing includes 3 beds, 2 baths and a large TV lounge space, that is also connected to the patio.
